Founder 

In 2003, it was almost impossible for visitors to go kayaking on the Brisbane River or to climb or abseil on the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. In 2004, John Sharpe founded Riverlife, an adventure centre housed in the heritage-listed Naval Stores (built in 1887).

After coining the term Riverlife in 2003, John is now a co-owner of the business alongside General Manager Sam Jarmy, who first joined Riverlife in 2009. The Brisbane City Council has been a significant supporter over the past 20 years.

John is particularly grateful for his past business partners at Riverlife and the thousands of employees, instructors, trainees, and interns who have helped deliver unforgettable experiences to over a million clients.
