In 2014, an Expression of Interest (EOI) and tender process was initiated to provide recreational activities at Walkabout Creek Conservation Park, following changes in State Government legislation governing tourism in national parks. After a two-year process involving extensive consultation and negotiations with key stakeholders—including the State Government, Seqwater, Traditional Owners, the local community, and private enterprise—Sharpey and his business partner, Fiona Heizmann, co-founded Walkabout Creek Adventures in 2016. The business specialises in single and tandem kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, mountain bikes, and Segway tours.

Today, Riverlife operates this leisure and recreation business, offering affordable social, educational, and team-building adventures within D’Aguilar National Park at Enoggera Reservoir.
