Co-Founder

In 1998, Sharpey was invited to consult on the walls of the Brisbane Powerhouse during its transition into an arts and cultural precinct. From that moment, he envisioned facilitating abseiling and climbing experiences on the site's magnificent heritage-listed walls, now over 100 years old.

In 2023, alongside his business partner Nicole Were, Sharpey brought this vision to life with the launch of Vertigo, a partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse.

Driven by the desire to create a groundbreaking and inclusive dining experience, Vertigo was designed to transcend conventional boundaries. The world-first concept merges the thrill of adventure with the elegance of fine dining, suspending guests 17 metres above the ground on the edge of the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse. By seamlessly integrating culinary excellence with exhilarating heights.

Sharpey and Nicole established an experience unlike any other in the world and then added wheelchair accessibility to the adventure six months after the launch.
